As a tenant you’re quite often limited to decorating restrictions. Landlords regularly prohibit tenants from painting or modifying their properties. The restrictions are understandable as apartments need to appeal to a general audience in order to successfully be rented. In addition, frequent changes by tenants can cause an apartment to appear worn over time. Too many layers of paint on frames or various painting patters and effects can eventually make walls uneven and choppy looking.

This is simply a temporary wall paper that can be peeled off easily anytime after being applied. In fact, it can be taken down and repositioned without leaving any visible marks on the wall.

Tempaper is actually marketed towards renters and people who enjoy frequent updates to their living spaces. The paper comes in various patters that appeal to both adults and children. Currently there are about a dozen styles to choose from with multiple colours in each. There is even a white style called “Tempaper You” that acts as a paintable white background that can be decorated as you see fit. This is a great idea for children’s rooms where kids can draw or paint on their own wall without damaging the surface underneath.

Tempaper comes in 20.5″ w x 33′ rolls. That means that one roll will cover approximately 56 square feet of your apartment. The paper simply needs a clean and even surface onto which it can be applied. Also, despite being easily removed, the paper will not peel or come off on its own so there is no worry of having the paper slide down over time the way that some inexpensive permanent papers can.

Tempaper Disadvantages

One of the disadvantages of tempaper is its price. At close to $80 a roll it can be quite expensive to decorate a large room when compared to the cost of paint or traditional paper. You can however decorate a single wall and use it as a focal point for your apartment.
